Miss Robin Van Es
Director and owner of Robin's School of Dance, Robin has degrees in Education & Psychology, has studied dance for over 30 years & has 20+ years of teaching experience. While Miss Robin loves all styles of dance, her passion is tap dancing! Robin is certified to teach Ballet, Tap, Classical/Contemporary Jazz, Modern & Theatrical Acrobatics to beginners through advanced. She is also a certified Zumba & Les Mills Body Pump instructor.
Miss Melissa Knobloch
Miss Melissa has degrees in Physical Education & Recreation. She is a full-time dance instructor at Robin's School Dance & has been teaching since 2004.She especially enjoys working with the older students & teaching her adult fitness classes.She is certified to teach Classical Ballet, Tap, Classical/Contemporary Jazz, Modern & Theatrical Acrobatics. Melissa is certified by Zumba to teach Basic 1 & 2. Miss Melissa also enjoys being the coach of the Dordt College Defender Dance Team!
Miss Megan Kooima
Miss Megan began teaching at RSD in 2006. She has a degree in Elementary Education with Early Childhood & Reading. Miss Megan is certified to teach Classical Ballet, Tap, Classical/Contemporary Jazz, Modern & Theatrical Acrobatics. She is also certified to teach Zumba. Miss Megan’s passion is teaching younger dancers. Miss Megan has received National Champion for solos & loves choreographing for RSD dancers. Miss Megan is also the dance team coach for Western Christian High School.
Miss Robin Suing
Miss Robin (a.k.a. Tall Miss Robin) has degrees in Business & Spanish. She has been dancing since 1997, taught for RSD in 2004-2006 before moving to Sioux City, then came back in 2013 to teach again! Miss Robin's favorite styles are ballet and musical theater, and loves working with the little dancers! She is also employed in the Theatre Department at Dordt College.
Miss Kirbee Van De Berg
Miss Kirbee grew up dancing in her mother’s dance studio! She is a certified Zumba instructor and has also received instruction through various summer intensives. Kirbee has experience in all styles of dance - and began teaching & choreographing already in 5th grade. She has won a multitude of awards with her choreography and performance abilities! Kirbee is currently a student at Dordt College, majoring in business management, sociology, & pre-law.
Miss Mollie Van Otterloo
Miss Mollie began dancing at 6 years old & was Miss Robin’s 1st student. She spent 11 years training & also taught from 7th grade through her senior year. She left the studio in 2002 to start her family & begin another career. After 13 years away she decided to return to the studio in 2015 when her daughters became involved in dance. Her favorite styles are hip hop & tap. Miss Mollie is also working as a Massage Therapist & studying Medical Biology at the University of South Dakota.
Miss Stacey Smidt
Stacey has been with Robin’s School of Dance for the past 15+ years, and spent 5+ years as a teacher at the Rock Rapids studio. She is also employed at New York Life in Sioux Falls. When she isn’t busy choreographing & teaching; she enjoys spending time with her husband Jordan & two little girls Belle & Baylee, working out, being outdoors & attending church activities.
Miss Erika Boone
Miss Erika has been teaching yoga based on a Vinyasa Flow style for 6+ years & practicing for 10+ years. Erika, formerly licensed as an insurance agent, was inspired to begin practicing yoga by a co-worker! She graduated from a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher training in 2015 and teaches a class filled with proper alignment cues in a light-hearted & relaxed manner. One of Erika's favorite quotes is, "Get over not being perfect. Our work is to discover & learn from days we fail." M.B. Marchildo
